From Chanel to Dior, discover the finest luxury boutiques and shopping experiences in Courchevel 1850.
The best time to shop in Courchevel is not the morning. It is après-ski, when the mountain empties and the boutiques fill up. That is when the energy is right, the mood is good, and the spending happens naturally.
The Ski Wear Addresses That Actually Matter
Before the luxury boutiques, there are the ski shops. And in Courchevel, the ski shops are in a category of their own.
Bernard Orcel is the first call. We have a negotiated partnership with them that gives our clients 10% off across premium lines including Bogner and Fusalp. This is not a standard discount available to everyone -- it comes from a direct agreement we have worked to establish. The full store is worth a proper visit, not a quick browse.
L'Atelier is well known in the resort for its selection of ski suits. If you are looking for quality ski wear in a dedicated environment, it is worth the visit.
Jean Blanc Sports has been in the village since the resort was built. That longevity means something. The staff know every generation of regular clients, the stock is consistently well chosen, and going there feels like part of what Courchevel is supposed to be.
The Ski Shopping Shortlist
Bernard Orcel
Official partner. 10% off Bogner, Fusalp and others -- a negotiated rate exclusive to our clients. The main ski wear address.
L'Atelier
Well-regarded for its ski suit selection. A dedicated ski wear address worth visiting.
Jean Blanc Sports
Institution. Been there since the beginning. Worth visiting for the history as much as the stock.
The Luxury Boutiques: the Avenue Montaigne Effect
Chanel, Dior, Hermes, Louis Vuitton - they are all here, within a few minutes of each other in the village centre. The comparison that insiders use is the Avenue Montaigne in Paris. It is not an exaggeration. The stores are full-format, not concessions, and the clientele expects it.
Most guests visit at least one of the four. The atmosphere is part of the experience: shopping in ski clothes, the mountain outside, the knowledge that you are in one of the most expensive postcodes in France.
Chanel
Full ready-to-wear and accessories collection
Hermes
Scarves, leather goods, home accessories
Dior
Ready-to-wear, bags, ski-specific pieces
Louis Vuitton
Travel goods, bags, seasonal collections
The Insider Move: Private Shopping Experiences
This is the part that most guests never access, because they do not know to ask for it.
Several of the luxury boutiques in Courchevel - Hermes and Dior among them - can arrange private shopping sessions with a tea service. A dedicated member of staff, a selection of pieces brought out specifically for you, a table with a small spread, and no other customers in the room. It is a completely different experience from walking into the shop during après-ski.
The catch: it needs to be arranged in advance, through someone who has the right contact. A concierge who knows the boutique managers directly. It is not something you can request at the door on the day.
This is one of the reasons a local concierge makes a real difference in Courchevel. Not for the things you can organise yourself, but for the access that only exists through relationships built over years.
Practical Notes
- Best time to shop: après-ski, from 4pm onwards
- Most boutiques open 10am to 7pm, some later during peak weeks
- Private shopping sessions: request at least 48 hours in advance via concierge
- 10% off at Bernard Orcel: negotiated partnership exclusive to our clients, not a public offer
- VAT refunds available for non-EU visitors at all major boutiques
For Bernard Orcel discounts or private boutique appointments, our concierge team handles the arrangements. Tell us what you are looking for before you arrive.
